Port Nicholson Packaging is a diverse manufacturing company which has been servicing clients from its factory in Lower Hutt for over 40 years.
Traditionally we have specialised in cardboard based packaging. In the past few years, however, we have become proficient in using PVC, Fluteboard (Corflute), polypropylene and Melinex with some exciting results.
Based in Petone we have a large number of printers in close proximity who can assist in providing knowledge and expertise for any project.
Two main strengths of Port Nicholson Packaging have been:
Short run customised packaging
We work with clients to produce a package from a concept to the marketplace. Often it begins with a market tester, which may be a very short run, and this is later followed by a larger more economical production.
Archival enclosures
Over the last 15 years Port Nicholson Packaging has worked closely with many major institutions within New Zealand to produce archival enclosures of the highest international standards, using imported acid-free buffered cardboard.
Our association with these clients has led to an expansion in Port Nicholson Packaging’s product range. We can now provide a full array of archival enclosures and accessories to support the needs of museums, libraries and conservators within New Zealand.
A variety of skills
Port Nicholson Packaging’s capability also includes manufacturing envelopes, ring binders and a selection of standard packaging, which is held in stock.
We are able to provide several Print Finishing Services such as embossing and foiling, eyeleting, riveting, creasing, round cornering, button & strings to name a few. Following the merger with Fluteboard Group our resources now take in screen printing, high frequency welding and UV overglossing.
